? I have issues... | Main | Small world ?

Well that was embarrassing
I've recently started using the weight machines at my gym. I have been a member for several years, rather slack at times, but I've usually gone to the cardio room, where I've tended to use the treadmill, the bike, or the elliptical. Or sometimes I'll go to classes that are held there. But the weight room was intimidating to me. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing, and I didn't.
Turns out that a lot of the machines have instruction labels on them. I finally got over my silly disinclination and have started mixing up weights and cardio whenever I go to the gym. In a good week I'm managing 3-4 times a week. When I am very good, I go to yoga class as well.
The machines I can't seem to master are the ones that are supposed to work your abs. At first I thought it was because I hadn't set up the machines correctly. But no. Apparently I have just a single big flabby ab and even 15 pounds is too much resistance for me when I try to curl my body into the proper form.
As much I hate them, I guess I will have to do sit-ups or some other kind of freeform ab exercise in the meantime. But how lame - I have to exercise in order to use an exercise machine!
