Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I love this film.

Oh come! oh teach me nature to subdue,
Renounce my love, my life, myself and you.
Fill my fond heart with God alone, for he
Alone can rival, can succeed to thee.

How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd;
Labour and rest, that equal periods keep;
"Obedient slumbers that can wake and weep;"
Desires compos'd, affections ever ev'n,
Tears that delight, and sighs that waft to Heav'n.
-- Alexander Pope, "Eloisa to Abelard" (1717)

Easily one of my top three of the first half of the year. Even thinking about it for a split second absolutely destroys my heart.

I had to leave the theater before the end!!! Now I'll have to rent it. When's it coming out on DVD?

It really was a good movie. A very rare thing: a romantic movie that isn't disgustingly sentimental and cliched. I always like Kate Winslet but it was nice to see Jim Carrey acting like a person instead of a cartoon character.
